I received official notification this week that confirmed I am the Hoosier Super Tour Champion for the FF class! Ironically, going into the season, we had no idea that this was even something I would be in the running for.
When looking at the season, 3 races on the SCCA calendar stood out. Sebring was a track I had been to a couple of times, and it split up the off-season. Road Atlanta was 2 weeks before the opening weekend of the FRP season at the same track. And finally, June Sprints at Road America, which is the closest thing I have to a home track.
Sebring kicked off with 2 second place finishes, battling SCCA Runoffs winner Nolan Aller. Road Atlanta drew a strong field. I finished with a 3rd and 6th place. And June Sprints culminated with 2 first place finishes!
The Super Tour takes the top 6 race finishes and adds the results from the Runoffs. That gave me just enough races with no drops. While I didn’t participate in the Runoffs, it looked like I held enough of a lead to hang on to the championship.
With the announcement of the 2024 SCCA Hoosier Super Tour schedule today, it looks like those 3 races are definitely on our radar again. Should be able to finalize our schedule pretty soon…keep an eye out for the 2024 MNR schedule.
